Shyla Roe – Mind Wide Open

Shyla Roe’s new track “Mind Wide Open” speaks on the topic of lockdown, how quarantine has made everyone be so productive while the world shuts off.

Roe: ‘Some are more heated at the situation than others, but we all must adhere to the rules to work together through the pandemic. The government hasn’t been honest with their choices but to survive they need to be transparent with the public.’

Kevin Sullivan – Spend The Kids Inheritance

After exploring ‘High Country Snows’ with Bill Chambers, Kevin Sullivan is back with the feel-good, tongue-in-cheek ‘Spend The Kids Inheritance’. The vibe of the song is set from the very beginning, as soon as you hear the ukulele playing ‘Aloha Oe’, it makes you want to appreciate not only today but the rest of your days.

Helping us value that all important work/life balance, Kevin wrote the song after meeting so many grey nomads while on tour. The common thread in countless conversations was how they were rewarding themselves and more importantly not feeling guilty about investing in their happiness and a long and happy life.

Whilst Kevin’s initial thought process was of retirement, the song became so much more. People of all ages are now realising that we need to get out there and really start living. If the past 18 months has taught us anything it’s that we need to think differently about how we live.

Kevin adds, “The song is almost an anthem to the grey nomads and those living every second. When I sing this song live, everyone in the audience gets it; they cheer, particularly the retirees, they nod and say, ‘yes, that’s what we are doing’. But there’s also the personal side of the story. With my career path from the Forensic Police to touring musician and my wife Belinda’s career as a CEO, we’ve slowly realised you can change your paradigm. What we have experienced since our sponsorship with Sunland Off Road Caravans and meeting so many caravaning people is that you can get off the daily grind. It’s never too late to get out there and LIVE”.

‘Spend The Kids Inheritance’ is the 5th single from what will be Kevin’s 2nd album. With a working title of “Against The Tide”, no release date has been set. Previous singles include the Number 1 iTunes Country Music Top Songs chart Australia, ‘High Country Snows’ (March 2021), ‘Against The Tide’ (Sept 2020), ‘Pilgrimage’ (April 2020) and ‘Just Don’t Mention Christmas’ (Nov 2019).

Kevin, Belinda and their three youngest children are currently touring QLD in their custom-built van. Premium Australian caravan company Sunland, have designed and built the family a 3.5 tonne family caravan & named it in their honour… The Sunland Sulli-Van. This is the 2nd leg of the Sulli-Van Tour returning home to NSW (Gerringong, NSW South Coast) in October 2021… at this stage!

It’s a really special song to start this album.”

Good Will Remedy – Ghost Town

Ghost Town is a well used song title but one that has particular relevance given the on/off again nature of COVID lockdowns and the subsequent effect on communities and lifestyles the world over.

Yet the bigger issue has been how various parts of the not so silent community have reacted and behaved in the face of a life and history changing pandemic. Lead singer Will continues “well yes, it continues to be a massive challenge to us all, but the way the majority of the planet has reacted has been so disappointing – some of the abrasive nature of our behaviour toward each other is something I thought I would never see”

Ghost Town is the second single off upcoming EP “Same Old Crows…” and follows lead single Lightning Bolt – a release that recieved national rotation on Australian ABC Country Radio and reached #42 on the Australian CountryTown Radio Airplay charts and was the second most downloaded song in the first week of release.

Good Will Remedy harness all that’s good from country, alt country and rock – and mix it all together in a southern fried feel-good alt Countryesque Americana style all their own.

Music Blog B-Sides and Badlands hail GWR as a band that’s ‘steeped in cool Americana and alt-rockroots – both charmingly Petty and satisfyingly triumphant”.

Greg Hudik – I Miss Living In A Country Town

In 1986, Greg Hudik’s first show ever was in front of an estimated crowd of 400,000+ college students, which was hosted by MTV. It was promoted and financed by Chewels, Pontiac and Hawaiian Tropic. An estimated 80 million people tuned in, worldwide, to watch MTV’s very first Spring – Break in Daytona, an internationally televised event. It was an awesome lineup with The Beach Boys, Mr. Mister, The Bangels, Starship, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, as well as Greg Hudik!

John Rosin, who recorded Peter Frampton’s, Jackson Browne’s, and Bob Seger’s live records, also recorded Greg Hudik’s, first ever, live record made even more special because it was released on Greg’s own “Platinum Records Nashville” label, when he was only 24 years old! What a special day! This was a great way to take the first steps in his lifelong quest and also, beginning his first quarter of life, living for his music career.

With the passing of his father when Greg was still in the 5th grade, Greg learned the value of a dollar, early on, from a mother that had to raise 6 children of her own.

So, Greg saved enough of his hard-earned money to finance his music startup and career. Greg’s childhood prayers and his dream career literally started on the right note that very special day on MTV, and he continues to live his dream that God put in his heart as a child still today, living with no regrets. As a Southern Rock artist Greg Hudik has launched with success, many singles to Triple A, and Mainstream Rock.

Greg Hudik has only released a handful of singles to Country Radio. Writing 42 country songs published by Sony Tree ATV, and 62 country songs published by Erv Woolsey, and George Strait. Greg Hudik has made Nashville his home and he has been writing on Music Row for well over a quarter century.

George Strait recorded his very first “Honkeytonk Gospel” song. Self-titled and written by Greg Hudik, “I Found Jesus On The Jailhouse Floor”, released on the only George Strait record to ever debut #1 the first day of release.

Elvie Shane – My Boy

BBR Music Group’s Elvie Shane announces his first official song release with “My Boy,” a heartfelt tribune to his stepson. The tender ballad is available everywhere digitally now. After signing with the BBR Music Group/ BMG Nashville family last year, Elvie has found his home with the label’s Wheelhouse Records imprint.

The song, in addition to what it means to his family, holds a special spot in Elvie’s heart as it was the catalyst for Elvie’s career as an artist. A video he posted of the song went viral in 2018 and caught the attention of many, earning him a publishing deal with Rome Phrey Publishing and eventually his record deal with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Watch the lyric video for the song HERE .

“My Boy” shows the softer side of the muscle cars and electric guitar-loving singer-songwriter who credits Steve Earle, John Fogerty and Roger Miller as his biggest influences. His music, whether it features tear-jerk moments or heavy guitar licks, is centered around lyrical storytelling with heart, nostalgia and hardship- with a side of food for thought.

ABOUT ELVIE SHANE:

The Gospel-born and Southern Rock-bred Elvie Shane seamlessly fuses Country with Soul to create a sound that has graced hundreds of dives, jukes and festivals across the States. Born on a Sunday in the quiet town of Leitchfield, KY, it wasn’t but a week later when he was first introduced to music and the magic that it holds. Tucked firmly in his mother’s arms alongside a hymnal at the small-town Baptist church, Elvie would go on to spend many hours immersed in gospel before returning home. Greeting him in the driveway each Sunday afternoon were the sounds of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steve Earle and The

Temptations pouring out of the speakers of some old Ford his father would be tucked under, fixing up.

Quickly drawn to the Rock n’ Roll sounds, it wasn’t until a Baptist Revival that his love of Gospel and Rock would collide-if was there that a young man who recently lost his lead singer heard Elvie sing and immediately invited him to play with his Rock band. Within six days, Elvie learned nearly a dozen new songs and performed his first show and fell in love with the stage. It was with this band that Elvie began songwriting-a talent that he has carried with him for many years. His songwriting ability caught the attention of fans as his song “My Boy,” written about his stepson went viral on the internet in 2018. His picture-based lyrics and knack for storytelling lead to his signing with United Talent Agency and has since opened for Toby Keith, Billy Currington, Brothers Osborne, Cole Swindell, Brett Young, Walker Hayes, and Lady A, to name a few.

The music video was filmed in Queensland, directed by Golden Guitar winner Michael McCartin.

In 2017, Gemma was the recipient of the much sought-after ‘Len and Lorraine Wakefield Memorial Award’. This is a monetary scholarship from the Adelaide Country Music Club, which has enabled Gemma to pursue her music career.

Cleaning up at the country music awards in South Australia, Gemma won multiple categories at the Barmera Country Music Festival, Burra Country Music Festival, Laura Country Music Festival & The Aristocrats Talent Quest at The Tamworth Country Music Festival.

Gemma Louise could sing from the time she could talk. It became apparent to her family from early on she was destined to pursue her passion for music. Gemma has a voice reminiscent of Patsy Clyne, the same rich warm texture, but with a contemporary edge.

“Gemma is a remarkable young singer, and I’m sure she will achieve great success in her music, or whatever she chooses to pursue in life. It’s a pleasure to work with such a dedicated and talented young artist” – Lyn Bowtell, multiple Golden Guitar winner and Gemma’s mentor.

At the tender age of 14, Gemma Louise gigs regularly, performs at talent quests, and juggles a busy school and farm life. Growing up on her family’s property in rural South Australia has taught her the value of a hard days’ work and helped Gemma appreciate and value the land. She loves country music, riding horses, playing rugby union and football.

Her debut single ‘Unanswered Prayers’, released in February 2020, spent ten consecutive weeks on the International Country Thunder Chart, including a stint at #1 and the music video has already received thousands of hits on YouTube.

Ben McNeil – Delilah

Like all great country songs, ‘Delilah’ tells a story of the imperfect lives of imperfect people. It is the tale of one of us, the people living on your street, a story filled with people that you recognize … Delilah might even be you. That is the art of writing such narratives, an art that Ben McNeil is superb at.

A central stomping beat anchors everything and around this flows sensitive, finger-picked acoustic and, washes of slide and pedal steel guitars. Banjos gently waltz past, harmony vocals underline and reinforce the storyline vocals as they mix and match in the deliberate spaces left for them to mature.

Born in Nowra NSW, Ben McNeil began playing guitar at twelve years old, inspired by The Beatles and Eric Clapton’s unplugged album. Ben quickly began writing songs and by the age of fourteen started gigging with his high school punk band.

After joining the Navy at twenty, Ben’s music career was on hiatus, all the while absorbing as much information he could on songwriting during his time off. During his time in the Navy he served in the Middle East twice, and was involved in the QLD flood emergency as a Helicopter Air-crewman in 2011.

In 2005 Ben and his band travelled to Brisbane to work on an EP with producer Stuart Stuart. The EP had some minor success, yet the Defence Force had to take precedence. Ben left the Navy in 2016 after moving to Adelaide South Australia, and enrolled with SAE Adelaide to enhance his studio production skills to allow him to work on home recording demos, and to work remotely with producers and other musicians.

In 2018 he released ‘Set In The Back’, a collection of songs he’d written over a period of five years. All of them recorded, mixed and mastered at home, his latest release is another self-produced effort, this time taking an Alt. Country turn and collaborating with producer Syd Green.

Ben took one on one songwriting lessons with Grammy nominee Mary Gauthier late last year into early January. From those sessions, Ben has an invigorated sense of creativity and is currently working on his next project with Syd Green once again.

‘Delilah’ features Bill Chambers on electric guitar, banjo and lap steel, Nicole Brophy on backing vocals, and Syd Green on percussion and bass.
