Michael Jay Hughes – Dirt Road Whiskey

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Rhett Rogers and alongside my partner John Archer we own 2Cuts Enterprises. We are a Dallas based music management team and we are proud to introduce to you MICHAEL JAY HUGHES, a true country artist from Goshen, Alabama. He has been playing and writing for over twenty years; performing in Alabama and Texas at festivals, private parties, bars, and yes even a grocery store or two for over a decade. He’s opened for artists such as Bart Crow and more recently, Josh Morningstar (“Must Be The Whiskey” songwriter).

Michael Jay Hughes recorded some new music in the Fall of 2020. The sessions were led by legendary Nashville music producer Larry Rogers, who’s produced and/or published such hits as, “Louisiana Saturday Night”, “Who’s Cheating Who”, “The Whiskey Ain’t Working”, and many more. Recorded at The Sound Kitchen (Studio 19), in Franklin, Tennessee; the sessions were comprised of some of Nashville’s best musicians that record and/or tour with Alabama, Dolly Parton, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Easton Corbin, Kellie Pickler, Joe Bonamassa, among others.

The full EP from Michael Jay is planned for release in late 2021, but not before several additional strategic MJH singles (including four originals) get launched along the way for his fans that are wanting more. Up first, we’re happy to share with you “Dirt Road Whiskey”, written by our good friend Mark Kelley. “Dirt Road Whiskey” was released everywhere on April 17th, and the explosive video was released on May 1st.

We think you’re going to love this timely, hard-hitting, crank-it-up in your truck kind of song after a long week. We hope you enjoy it and play it!
